The EWD* is a very impressive tool.  It improved our ROP, drilled the hole size we want, and costs less than 50% of a bi-center bit or RWD**.  I highly recommend the EWD* to all BG operations.

Tom Lawrence, BG plc

Deep water offshore of the Mediterranean Sea, soft reactive shale, formation pressure gradient changes, hole deviation, high pressure, enormous gas volumes, rig availability, and cost are a few of the challenges BG must overcome.

That is why BG appointed Howard W. Ryan, BG Egypt drilling manager.  Howard is one of the best drilling engineers in this business, an opinion shared by everyone who knows him.

The BG team drilled the lowest cost wells with the fewest unscheduled events in the region compared to several majors who were operating and exploring the adjacent leases.

When we introduced our Enlarge While Drilling (EWD) and Expandable Stabilizer (ES) to the BG drilling team their comment was, "This is a damn good tool" and the performance of the EWD in their operation proved them to be right.

While some of the other majors still use bi-center bits, RWD and under-reamer, fighting hole deviation, undersize holes, lower ROP, stuck pipes, and MWD failure or fishing for lost arms and cutters of the under-reamer, the BG team are drilling ahead and planned the EWD for all their future wells.

You can call Howard Ryan, drilling manager BG Egypt or Mark Cochran, drilling engineer, and hear their comments about the EWD's performance.

You can listen to all the false rumors and twisted tales spread by bi-center bits, RWD and under-reamer peddlers trying to sell you their tools.
